I have a passion for supporting women in the corporate environment. I believe that women do not generally support each other in the workplace, and I want to be that person that a client has in their corner, supporting them through managing the demands of their professional and personal lives, assisting them to perform at their best.

Work Experience

I am a qualified CA(SA). I completed my articles at PwC, and then stayed on for two years as an audit manager.

I moved into corporate as a Senior Finance manager at GlaxoSmithKline. During my time at GSK, I managed various functions including Finance, Supply Chain and Admin, and led various cross-functional projects.

In 2008, I was appointed as Finance Director at Takeda (formerly Nycomed). I took up the role of Managing Director in September 2017. During my time at Takeda, I managed the Finance function for Africa, and led various projects for the NEMEA (Near East, Middle East and Africa) region. In 2017, I won a CFO Award in the category “Moving into Africa”.

I was fortunate to have a coach when I was appointed in my first Director role in 2008, and experienced significant personal development and growth during this process. One of the things that I learned was that it was crucial to have a coach that was right for me. There must be a strong connection between the coach and their client in order for the coaching journey to be successful.

I work hard to build solid professional relationships with my clients, always being objective and supportive, while allowing them to benefit from insights that I have gained throughout my career.

My preference to work with female professionals is driven by some of the challenges that I experienced in a sometimes male dominated corporate environment. My aim is to assist these clients to climb the corporate ladder and perform to their full potential, effectively breaking the glass ceiling that sometimes holds them back.
