Work Experience

As an Operations professional with over 30 years’ experience in different roles in oil refining, my core/ key skills revolve around my passions for Business Leadership and Strategy, Operational/ Manufacturing Management, Business Excellence, Sustainable Business Systems and Processes, and Competence Development for Executives and Business Leaders.

My career spanned 6 years at SASTECH (SASOL Technology) and 25 years at SAPREF (Shell & BP SA Refinery) in various technical, managerial, leadership and executive roles. I joined SAPREF’s management in 2001 As Reliability Manager (3 years) and Plant Manager (4 years), and the Executive Leadership Team in 2008 as HSSE Manager (5 years) and Production Manager (6 years) and deputised as Managing Director.

Through the course of more than 20 years as manager, leader and executive, I have instinctively applied the principles of coaching to develop future leaders, guide individuals and teams to improve performance, realised opportunities for the business, and implemented sustainable business systems and processes.

In the role as formal Business and Executive Coach, I have successfully completed the rigorous training and evaluation program of SA Business Coaches, including more than 50 coach/coachee practice sessions.
